Student Assistant

Student Assistant, Student Health and Wellness Center

Seeking Student Assistant to work on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and/or Fridays during hours of operation (see below).

Student Health and Wellness Center 

Under direct supervision of the Student Health and Wellness Center director, the Student Assistant will aid students, staff, LPC representatives, and employers who visit the Student Health and Wellness Center. This includes providing customer service, giving directions, and utilizing resources when needed to assist students and visitors to the center. Students in this role will primary work with the Student Health and Wellness Center.

Primary Duties

  • Welcome students, staff, and guests
  • Maintain basic knowledge of Student Health and Wellness Center, assist students and patrons with general questions.
  • Answer the telephone; retrieve phone messages and book appointments. 
  • Review calendars, flyers, website, and events postings around the center for accuracy. Assist with maintaining up-to-date information.
  • Assist with outreach and posting flyers around campus; help with events hosted by the Student Health and Wellness Center
  • Organize and clean immediate work area and around the center; refill supplies as needed.
  • Assist Student Health and Wellness staff with projects and tasks.
  • Book medical and mental health appointments
  • May be asked to create: flyers, documents, letter, memos, and other office related documents.
  • May assist with campus outreach through tabling on campus or making short presentations to classes or tours.
  • Training provided.

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Good time management skills, well-organized
  • Provide excellent customer service, have good communication skills and be ready to learn; maintain effective interpersonal relationships
  • Good computer skills; knowledge of Microsoft Office /Windows/Excel 
  • Follow and give oral and written instructions
  • Work independently and as a part of a team
  • Work with a diverse population of students while maintaining confidentiality

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excel proficiency 
  • Interest in the medical field
  • Public speaking

Education and Experience:

Current student maintaining at least a 2.0 GPA and in good standing.

Pay: $16.50 per hour 

Hours: 10-20 hours per week during hours of operation

Location: This job is fully in person at the Student Health and Wellness Center

Tuesday

9:00 am – 7:00 pm

Wednesday

9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Thursday

9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Friday

9:00 am – 1:00 pm
